I joined Duo Security in 2018, working on the Duo Admin Panel. My work mainly focused on the user and administrator enrollment experience. At that time, Duo security was just acquired by Cisco, which accelerated our adoption by enterprise customers. Enterprise customers have thousands of employees, and their enrollment process is more complicated than small to medium-sized businesses.

To design a better enrollment experience for our enterprise users, we planned research projects to understand their current workflow and pain points. I partnered with my teammate Ryan to conduct the enrollment experience research. We did internal research, customer research, data mining, and synthesis. I visualized our insights into journey maps and created narratives and illustrations for storytelling to share our learning with a larger audience in our organization.

Well equipped with enterprise enrollment knowledge, I created designs for many features within this journey, such as Directory sync and Admin Provisioning.

In the user testing, 5 out of 5 users successfully finished the task of syncing and setting up the up directory and gave us very positive feedback.

There are three types of directories, and they all have similar layouts and features. I worked with our engineers to build all the components reusable and contributed to our Duo design system. Other teams at Duo can use the components we built in their development process.
